Acting Workshops

Leveraging combined decades of experience in the entertainment industry, Step Forward Entertainment hosts various acting and career management oriented workshops for current and new actors in multiple cities across the U.S.  Taught by our staff and affiliated industry professionals, you can always be assured that you will learn from experts in the business who have acted, written, directed and/or produced major television, motion picture, or theatrical productions.

The workshop will provide acting lessons and performance opportunities & coaching for children and teens interested in an acting career, and expert advice for parents on navigating the entertainment industry and managing their child's career.

About our teaching professionals for this workshop:

• Bob Blume is the president of Step Forward Entertainment and is an entertainment producer and talent manager. His impressive career began as a Production Assistant on NBC’s The Tonight Show. Since then he has successfully scouted, coached and managed actors and actresses. He has produced TV shows on PBS and the Ovation cable network and numerous Broadway, off-Broadway and touring musicals and plays including On Kentucky Avenue, Skitso!, and Me and Jezebel. Bob also has a current 19-year association with the annual Drama Desk Awards (the ‘Golden Globes’ of theater) as an Executive Producer, and was a 20-year voter for the Tony Awards and a currentl Drama Desk Awards voter. He is also an advisory board member of the Duke Ellington Center for the Arts and a strategic advisor to the website for entertainment professionals, ForTalent.com.

• Carrol Mendelson is an accomplished actress as well as an award winning playwright with credits that include the play “Rachel & Julio”, with co-writer William Katt; starring such notables as Lainie Kazan, Joe Bologna, Liz Larsen, Tony Plana, and June Gable. “ The award winning children’s musical “Precious Piglet and Her Pals”, with music and lyrics by composer Ken Mazur; the drama “Imperfect Seed” as well as the musical comedy “Borscht Belt Bistro”. She wrote the short film Stand2Gether which can be seen on YouTube, and was host of the syndicated radio show “ The Creative Beat”, where she interviewed talent in all aspects of the creative arts 

• Burt DuBois  has a thirty year history in television, specializing in commercial production. He has directed commercials for many companies including Princess Cruise Lines, American Express, AT&T, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Chevrolet, and more. An accomplished Writer-Director/Cinematographer, DuBois is the recipient of numerous awards. 

• Katerin Rodriguez founded and was the host of the online video channel VIVE Katerin covering the fashion and entertainment industries. She has interviewed film, TV, sports and fashion industry celebrities. She has produced shows for New York Fashion Week, including Spring into Summer, a showcase of various upcoming designers and performing artists. Katerin has also managed public relations campaigns for performing artists and designers, including a Grammy Awards showcase for designer Simone Rodrigues.  In addition, she is a certified career coach, and excels at helping young artists visualize and achieve their dreams.

• Karen Greer heads the Karen Greer Model & Talent Agency LLC which is a boutique full service SAG franchised agency located in Hollywood, Florida and NYC which specializes in Kids & Teens for print modeling, commercials, television and feature films.  Their roster of models and actors have appeared in feature films, TV and commercials in CSI, Rock of Ages, The Glades, Nickelodeon Network, Burn Notice among others.  Print campaigns include Abercrombie & Fitch, Vogue, Bambini, Ralph Lauren, Target, American Girl and Original Marine.

• Gail Weinbrum was a producer of “Bits of Broadway”, a touring musical, as well as the drama, “Imperfect Seed”, and the award winning “Precious Piglet and Her Pals. Most recently, she was producer of the film Stand2Gether which can currently be seen on YouTube
